Alex Ashmore

Vice President of BorgWarner Inc.
and President and GM Aftermarket

Alex Ashmore was appointed Vice President and President and General Manager of the Aftermarket October 2020.

Ashmore joined the company in 2020 as part of BorgWarner’s acquisition of Delphi Technologies, where he most recently served as Senior Vice President and President of the Aftermarket, responsible for leading Delphi Technologies’ Aftermarket business. Prior to joining Delphi in 2017, Ashmore was ABB’s Senior Group Vice President and Lead Division Manager of the Electrification Division in Asia-Pacific.

He began his career with TRW in 1990, where he held a variety of aftermarket roles of increasing seniority in sales, marketing and product management in both Europe and Asia-Pacific. While at TRW, he served as head of the company’s Asia-Pacific aftermarket business in Shanghai, before assuming the role of Vice President and General Manager of Global Parts and Service business, including TRW’s friction manufacturing business.

Ashmore earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Manchester University and a CIM Diploma in marketing from Birmingham Polytechnic University.

He serves on the Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association (AASA) Board of Governors and is a member of the Investment Committee of Mobilion Ventures.

Tonit M. Calaway

Executive Vice President, Chief Administrative Officer, General Counsel and Secretary

Tonit M. Calaway was appointed Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer, General Counsel and Secretary in October 2020. In this role, Calaway oversees the global legal function, security, facilities, government affairs, sustainability, environment and aviation. Previously, Calaway served as Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer and Secretary, and Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer of BorgWarner.

Before joining BorgWarner, Calaway held various positions during her 18-year career at Harley-Davidson. She served as President of The Harley-Davidson Foundation and Vice President of Human Resources. Calaway held various positions in the legal department, serving as Associate General Counsel Motor Company Operations, Assistant General Counsel, Chief Compliance Counsel, and Assistant Secretary. Earlier in her career, Calaway worked for two Milwaukee-based law firms: Davis & Kuelthau, S.C., and Godfrey & Khan, S.C.

Savoy magazine named Calaway to its list of Most Influential Black Executives in Corporate America in 2020 and to its list of Most Influential African-American Women in Corporate America in 2013, 2016 and 2019. The Milwaukee Business Journal named her a “Women of Influence” in 2014. In 2020, she was named to the Top 100 Leading Women in the North American Auto Industry by Automotive News. Calaway is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and received her juris doctorate from the University of Chicago Law School. She is a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin.

Calaway currently serves on the Board of Directors of W. P. Carey, a net lease real estate investment trust. She also serves on the Board of Directors of Astronics Corporation, a leading supplier of advanced technologies to the global aerospace, defense, and semiconductors industries.

Stefan Demmerle

PowerDrive Systems

Dr. Stefan Demmerle was appointed President and General Manager of BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems in November 2015. In this role, Demmerle is responsible for BorgWarner’s global PowerDrive Systems business.

Prior to his current role, Demmerle was President and General Manager of BorgWarner TorqTransfer Systems.

Before joining BorgWarner in 2012, Demmerle was Vice President of the powertrain electronics business at Continental from 2010 to 2012 after leading Continental Diesel Systems (formerly known as Siemens Diesel Systems Technology) as President and CEO from 2006 to 2010. He previously held positions of increasing responsibility within Siemens VDO Automotive in the transmission and engine electronics businesses both in France and worldwide. He began his career in France with assignments in sales and program management for automotive engine components.

Demmerle holds a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Technical University of Munich, Germany, as well as a doctorate in mechanical engineering from the Institut Polytechnique de Grenoble, France.

Brady D. Ericson

Brady D. Ericson was appointed Vice President and President and General Manager of Morse Systems in June 2019. In this role, Ericson is responsible for BorgWarner’s global Morse Systems business, as well as Compliance Officer for Morse Systems.

Prior to his current role, Ericson held a number of positions of increasing responsibility since joining BorgWarner in 2000. These include: Chief Strategy Officer, President and General Manager, Emissions Systems; Vice President and General Manager, Emissions Systems; Vice President, Global Manufacturing Strategies for Turbo and Emissions Systems; Vice President, Operations China and Korea, Turbo and Emissions Systems; and several other roles in operations, engineering and sales.

Prior to joining BorgWarner, Ericson held various sales and engineering positions with Honeywell (formerly AlliedSignal) and Ford Motor Company.

Ericson holds a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from Kettering University and a Master of Business Administration from Duke University.

Joseph F. Fadool

Joseph F. Fadool was appointed Vice President and President and General Manager of BorgWarner Emissions, Thermal and Turbo Systems in October 2019. In this role, Fadool oversees BorgWarner’s global Emissions, Thermal and Turbo Systems business.

Prior to his current role, Fadool also held top positions in other BorgWarner businesses including President and General Manager of Morse Systems and TorqTransfer Systems.

Prior to joining BorgWarner in 2010, Fadool worked at Continental as Vice President for North American Electronic Operations. He previously held various positions with increasing responsibility at Continental and Siemens VDO Automotive including general management, operations, sales, and program management. Prior to joining Continental, Fadool spent seven years with Ford Motor Company, where he was involved in project management, product development, and the launches of several major vehicles, including the Mustang and Taurus programs.

Fadool earned a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from Lawrence Technological University and received a Master of Science in computer and electronic controls from Wayne State University. He is a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE).

Fadool is currently serving as a board member of CLEPA, Enexor and the Turbo Energy Private Limited joint venture in India, as well as a cabinet member of United Way for Southeastern Michigan.

Paul Farrell

Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer

Dr. Paul Farrell was appointed Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer in October 2020. In this role, Farrell oversees all corporate strategy, advanced technology, marketing and public relations activities for the company.

He joined the company in 2020 as part of BorgWarner’s acquisition of Delphi Technologies, after playing critical roles in the sale and integration planning processes. Prior to the acquisition, Farrell was Senior Vice President of Strategy and Corporate Development, where his responsibilities included product line management, advanced engineering and licensing. He joined Delphi in 2013, progressing through various corporate and divisional executive roles, including serving as Delphi Technologies’ lead in its spin-off and separation from Aptiv.

Prior to joining Delphi, Farrell worked as a consultant at The Boston Consulting Group and A.T. Kearney, where his casework included a diverse mix of strategy, transformation and operational improvement projects for clients in the automotive, industrial goods, consumer products and financial services sectors. He also held various engineering and operational roles at Ford Motor Company and Visteon and began his career at General Electric Company.

Farrell holds a doctorate in mechanical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Additionally, he earned two master’s degrees, one in business administration from Michigan State University and the second in mechanical engineering from The Pennsylvania State University. He also earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame in mechanical engineering.

Farrell is presently a director on the boards for Tula Technology and PolyCharge America, which are venture investments in which BorgWarner holds equity positions.

Davide Girelli

Fuel Injection Systems

Davide Girelli was appointed President and General Manager of BorgWarner Fuel Injection Systems in October 2020. In this role, Girelli is responsible for BorgWarner’s global Fuel Injection Systems business.

Previously, Girelli served as Vice President and General Manager Turbo Systems Europe and South America and Vice President and General Manager Europe and Asia for Morse Systems. He began his career at BorgWarner in Italy in 2011.

Girelli has nearly 25 years of experience in the automotive and aerospace industries. Prior to joining BorgWarner, he worked in research and development and operations for several global companies including FCA, Trelleborg and ITT.

Girelli earned a master’s degree in aerospace engineering at the University of Rome La Sapienza as well as a Master of Business Administration at the University of Turin.

Frédéric B. Lissalde

President and Chief Executive
Officer of BorgWarner Inc.

Frédéric B. Lissalde was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer in August 2018. He was Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of BorgWarner from January 2018 to July 2018, and from May 2013 to December 2017 he was Vice President and President and General Manager of BorgWarner Turbo Systems. Lissalde has served as a member of the Board of Directors of Autoliv, Inc. since December 2020.

Lissalde’s experience includes setting and executing strategic direction; driving business performance, growth, and culture; and the integration of purchased companies around the world. He brings expertise in those areas and intimate knowledge of BorgWarner’s operations, its business, and industry to the Board. He formerly served as a board member of CLEPA (European Automotive Suppliers’ Association), based in Brussels, Belgium.

Prior to joining BorgWarner, Lissalde held positions at Valeo and ZF in the areas of program management, engineering, operations, and sales in the United Kingdom, Japan, and France.

Lissalde holds a Master of Engineering from ENSAM – Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts et Métiers – Paris, and a Master of Business Administration from HEC Paris. He is also a graduate of executive courses at INSEAD – Institut Européen d’Administration des Affaires, Harvard, and MIT.

Kevin Nowlan

Executive Vice President,
Chief Financial Officer, BorgWarner Inc.

Kevin Nowlan was appointed Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in April 2019. In this role, he is responsible for financial reporting and analysis, treasury, tax, internal audit, investor relations, mergers and acquisitions, and information technology.

Prior to joining BorgWarner, Nowlan worked at Meritor for 12 years, where he held various leadership positions, most recently as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer and President of the Trailer and Components businesses. Prior to his career at Meritor, Nowlan worked for GMAC and the General Motors’ Treasurer’s Office for 12 years in a variety of roles.

Nowlan holds a bachelor’s degree in economics, political science and history, and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Michigan.

Felecia Pryor

and Chief Human Resources Officer

Felecia Pryor was appointed Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer in April 2019. In this role, she is responsible for all aspects of human resources for BorgWarner employees around the globe, including: compensation and benefits, talent management, labor, employment, social responsibility and internal communications.

Prior to joining BorgWarner in October 2018, Pryor held a number of global leadership roles at Ford Motor Company, most recently as Global Human Resources Director – Global Personnel, Organization & Planning. Before that, she served as Vice President of Human Resources for Ford ASEAN (Bangkok, Thailand) and Human Resources Director Ford Asia Pacific (Nanjing, China). In addition to her roles with Ford, she held a number of roles with increasing responsibility with Big Brothers Big Sisters, Ford Financial, and Republic Waste Services.

Pryor earned a Bachelor of Arts in criminal justice from Valdosta State University, a Master of Arts in public administration from Florida Atlantic University, and a Juris Doctor from Thomas M. Cooley School of Law. Pryor is a member of the State Bar of Michigan.

Pryor currently serves on the Board of Directors of Lincoln Educational Services, a leading provider of diversified career-oriented post-secondary education.

Tom Tan

Vice President of BorgWarner Inc., President of BorgWarner China

Tom (Yuesheng) Tan is Vice President and President of BorgWarner China. In this role, he oversees all corporate functions in China and chairs the China Steering Committee, consisting of all China business leadership.

He most recently was the Vice President of Transmission Systems and Vice President of Drivetrain Groups responsible for China concurrent with his President of BorgWarner China role. Prior to that, Tan was the Managing Director of BorgWarner China as well as the General Manager of Turbo and Emission Systems China. Tan joined BorgWarner in 1995 and has held several management positions including General Manager for BorgWarner TorqTransfer Systems (China); Asia Controller & Business Development Manager for TorqTransfer Systems (US); and Finance Director for Beijing Warner Gear (Joint Venture) in China.

Before BorgWarner, Tom held management positions at United Technology (US) and Shanghai International Investment and Trust Corporation (China) in the areas of program management, business development, international trading and foreign direct investment in China.

Tan holds an engineering diploma from Tongji University in Shanghai and Master of Business Administration from University of St. Thomas. Tan is a graduate of Advanced Management Program from Kellogg Business School as well as other executive programs from Oxford, INSEAD and Stanford.

Tom also serves as Board Director of BorgWarner Asia Co., Ltd. and BorgWarner Singapore Investments Pte. Ltd., as well as Chairman of Board Directors of all 14 BorgWarner operations in China, including four joint ventures.

Volker Weng

Vice President of BorgWarner Inc. and
President and General Manager, Drivetrain Systems

Dr. Volker Weng was appointed Vice President and President and General Manager of BorgWarner Drivetrain Systems in February 2021. In this role, Weng oversees BorgWarner’s global Drivetrain Systems business.

Prior to his current role, Weng held top positions in other BorgWarner businesses including President and General Manager, Transmission Systems and President and General Manager, Emissions and Thermal Systems. Weng has held a number of positions since joining BorgWarner in 2004, including Vice President and General Manager Turbo Systems Asia and Europe for Emissions and Thermal Systems; General Manager Turbo Systems China; and Director of Operations of the Kirchheimbolanden, Germany plant.

Prior to joining BorgWarner, Volker worked at FEV in advanced engine technology with increasing responsibilities within the engine simulation team.

Weng holds a diploma degree in mechanical engineering, a Doctorate in combustion engines from Karlsruhe University, and a Master of Business Administration from Mainz University.

Tania Wingfield

Vice President
and Integration Champion of BorgWarner Inc.

Tania Wingfield was appointed Vice President and Integration Champion in January 2020 and is responsible for all aspects of integration planning in connection with BorgWarner’s acquisition of Delphi Technologies.

Prior to her current role, she was Vice President of Engineering for PowerDrive Systems.

Wingfield joined the company in 2015 as part of BorgWarner’s acquisition of Remy International and played a critical role in championing the integration. After the acquisition was complete, she was named Vice President of Product and Manufacturing Strategy for the PowerDrive Systems business unit. Prior to the acquisition, Wingfield served in various executive capacities for Remy International including Production Planning, Materials Management, Plant Manager, Corporate Director of Production Control and Logistics, Vice President of Global Supply Chain, Senior Vice President of Global Strategic Planning, Product Lifecycle Management and Program Management.

Wingfield holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science and management information systems from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She is an active member of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) and Manufacturers Alliance for Productivity and Innovation (MAPI).

Wingfield sits on two nonprofit boards – Indianapolis Vineyard Church and GymLove, which is an organization that provides gymnastics opportunities for athletes with special needs.
